directedby.jpg   A director, producer and writer for over 10 years, Navid Khonsari has worked on feature films, television series, documentaries and video games.Navid was born in Montreal, Canada but grew up partly in Iran, the home country of his father. Navid graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a major in film and completed the program at the Vancouver Film School in 1997.In Toronto, Navid wrote and produced the feature film “The Contract” starring Billy Dee Williams and worked at City TV as a segment producer.
On account of his love for both cinema and video games, Navid was approached by Rockstar Games in New York to direct their top-selling franchise Grand Theft Auto. Navid directed the entire GTA Trilogy and established the cinematic feel for such Rockstar franchises as Max Payne, Midnight Club, Manhunt, Red Dead Revolver and The Warriors. Navid helped pioneer the merging of live action film with the previously one-dimensional world of video game cinematics.sundance_pics2.jpgIntroduced to the world of pins by a colleague, Navid became completely intrigued when he discovered that the real goal at the Olympics is not the gold Medal but the Katie Couric bobble head pin. “Pindemonium” is Navid’s directorial debut and his first feature documentary.

Currently, Navid is directing the upcoming video game “Alan Wake” for Microsoft, developing his animated feature film “Motor City” and completing his second documentary “Pulling John” about the titans of arm wrestling.
